What is Alpe d’HuZes?
Alpe d’HuZes is an event in which participants raise as much funds as possible to contribute to the fight against cancer. They do this by running, walking or cycling up the legendary French Alpe d’Huez up to six times in one day. Their credo? "Quitting is not an option." All funds raised are used for cancer research, with the ultimate aim of controlling the disease. We hope that in the future, no-one will have to die after being diagnosed with cancer.
But Alpe d’HuZes is so much more than that!
The Alpe d'HuZes Mission
Alpe d’HuZes promotes and supports many different forms of (scientific) cancer research, so in future, no-one will have to die after being diagnosed with cancer.
Please refer to this page for the Alpe d’HuZes mission and core values. (Only available in Dutch)
The Alpe d'HuZes Research Fund
We feel we have an important responsibility towards cancer patients and our sponsors. All funds raised go directly to the Dutch Cancer Sociey (DCS) and are fully spent on projects chosen by the DCS and Alpe d’HuZes, consistent with the d’HuZes principles of financial transparency and integrity.
The Alpe d'HuZes Non-commission Policy
Alpe d'HuZes has a very strict and transparent non-commission policy. Please refer to this page to read more about the impact of this policy. (Only available in Dutch)
Our background information (only available in Dutch) provides several tips for answering questions regarding the event and our foundation. It briefly describes what Alpe d’HuZes is, why there was some negative publicity in the past, and what steps the organisation has taken to prevent this from happening again in the future. This way, Alpe d’HuZes and all that is stands for will hopefully always be seen in a positive light. Additionally, we have written a short FAQ section (only available in Dutch)..
