Why I participate in Alpe d'HuZes?
Unfortunately, cancer runs in my family. I lost my grandfather, my uncle, and, ten years ago, my father, whom I deeply miss every day. Their passing left me with many unanswered questions about this disease. After my PhD, I decided to change course and dedicate my research to cancer.
Today, in my lab, we investigate the fundamental biology of tumors and their metabolism.
By joining Alpe d'HuZes, we support cancer research to accelerate our understanding of this disease and work toward a future where more people have the chance to defeat it! 💪💙

Helaas komt kanker in mijn familie voor. Ik verloor mijn grootvader, mijn oom en, tien jaar geleden, mijn vader, die ik elke dag enorm mis. Hun overlijden liet me achter met veel onbeantwoorde vragen over deze ziekte. Na mijn PhD besloot ik een andere richting in te slaan en mijn onderzoek aan kanker te wijden.
Vandaag de dag onderzoeken we in mijn lab de fundamentele biologie van tumoren en hun metabolisme.
Door mee te doen aan Alpe d'HuZes steunen we kankeronderzoek om onze kennis over deze ziekte te versnellen en toe te werken naar een toekomst waarin meer mensen de kans krijgen om het te verslaan! 💪💙
