Alpe d'HuZes is a fundraiser for KWF (Foundation named after our late queen Wilhelmina), a foundation dedicated to fight against the horrible disease cancer via scientific research, informing, supporting patients and of course fundraising! All of this obviously together with doctors, researchers but also patients, volunteers and donors.

The Alpe D'Huez is a mountain in the French Alpes of 1860 meters high. Combining the names of the mountain and the  goal to cycle up the mountain 6 (Zes in Dutch) times, formed the challenging fundraiser Alpe d'Huzes.

Having been twice at Alpe d'HuZes as a volunteer, providing food, drinks and whatever they required to my cycling friends, I will take part myself this year!
However, not as a cyclist, but I will do it running!

Having started seriously running about 2 years (and also 20 kilo's) ago, the fact I like challenges and that I, like all of you who read this, have lost more then 1 relative, friend, acquaintance to this terrible disease called cancer, I took the challenge to run the mountain and raise money for a very good cause!

And this is where your help and generosity is needed.
I (and my friends as well, look at our team page) will do the hard work, you only have to donate. And really, it doesn't matter how much, every cent, penny, whatever you use as money where you are from is welcome! Just to try to ban cancer out of our lives!

Mountain training in Noord-Holland

Today was supposed to be a serious training run, 15 kilometers including 3 times running up "het Kopje van Bloemendaal", the only "mountain" you can find here in the neighborhood...
Turned out to be 353 height meters. My lord, that is not even close!
Anyhow, went fine today but still a lot to do!
