Why I participate in Alpe d'HuZes?
With 70 colleagues from the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI-AVL) Amsterdam we are climbing the Alpe d'huzes to raise money for the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF), a non-governmental organisation that funds cancer research.
I am a PhD student at the NKI-AVL since 2021 and over the years I have been involved in setting up clinical trials and treating patients with new immune-based therapies. In our lab, we are also working on improving the efficacy of immune cell therapies such as tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy. As a (clinical) researcher at the NKI I have experienced how incredibly important the funding of KWF is to carry out all the impactful projects that can really improve and save patient's lives. We will keep doing our best and your donation means a lot! The fight isn’t over until every cancer patient gets their cure!
